International Journal of Belarusian Glottodidactics
ISSN 3072-3140

Until 2023 (Issue 7), the journal was published under the title Belaruskaja Mova jak Zameznaja (eISSN 2544-5448, ISSN 2544-6789, KRS PR 21248). Since 2024 (Issue 8), it has been published under the title International Journal of Belarusian Glottodidactics (ISSN 3072-3140). Accordingly, a new ISSN was assigned following the change of title.

The journal was established in 2017 by the Belarusian Glottodidactics Laboratory of the Department of Belarusian Studies at the University of Warsaw. Its mission is to promote the teaching and learning of the Belarusian language, literature, history, and culture in Poland and around the world. It is the only journal of its kind devoted to research on Belarusian language teaching and learning (Belarusian glottodidactics). In view of the challenges currently facing the Belarusian language and Belarusian-language education, the journal serves as an important forum for scholarly exchange in this field. The journal is published by the University of Warsaw Press. While it primarily publishes articles in Belarusian (with English abstracts), contributions in English and Polish are also accepted. Articles address issues related to Belarusian-language education, pedagogy, the sociolinguistic situation of the Belarusian language, and interest in Belarusian language and culture outside Belarus. The editorial board includes scholars from academic institutions in Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review conducted by reviewers affiliated with different institutions and, whenever possible, different countries.

Aims and Scope

The journal is an annual publication devoted to interdisciplinary Belarusian studies, Belarusian language teaching and learning (Belarusian glottodidactics), the history and contemporary development of Belarusian literature and culture outside Belarus, as well as comparative glottodidactics. Individual volumes include research articles, review essays, book reviews, and reports. Contributions are authored by scholars affiliated with academic institutions in Poland and abroad. The journal publishes articles in Belarusian, Polish, and English. The journal follows an open access model, accepts texts through open submission, and all articles undergo peer review and are indexed.
